How did you get started with RISE?
I have been doing CrossFit for 2 years and before that I was a runner. I really enjoy Crossfit but sometimes I miss the element of running where I am maintaining an elevated heart rate over an extended amount of time. I found this with RISE and really like the mix of RISE and Crossfit together.
What is your exercise background?
For a handful of years I was a “runner”, mostly 5k distance in my neighborhood until I started doing CrossFit in April of 2013. Growing up, I played guitar, not sports, and I have never felt like a natural athlete but I have come to enjoy being active thanks to CFP & RISE.
What motivates you to exercise on a regular basis?
At the risk of sounding like a total narcissist, my biggest motivation is to not be overweight. Everyone talks about wanting to look good naked but that’s a pretty high standard. I mean c’mon, my wife is the only one seeing me naked, and while I hope she likes what she sees, everyone else sees me with my clothes ON!! Can we start with looking good with clothes on?!

What is your favorite RISE exercise or apparatus?
It’s a tie between the battle ropes and the crossover symmetry bands.
What do you do for fun?
I make and enjoy coffee and food with my wife and 4 kids for fun.
